Simon Sharkey, Lac., MAcOM is a nationally board certified and licensed acupuncturist in the state of Oregon. Simon’s interest in acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine stems from a passion to understand and nurture the body’s innate ability to find balance and heal.

Simon’s curiosity in traditional medicine peaked at a young age; his mother told stories of how acupuncture and herbal medicine helped her overcome infertility, ultimately resulting in two sets of twins—his older sisters, then him and his brother almost 3 years later. He grew up with a strong connection to the natural world, and herbal medicines were a staple at home.

Simon studied various modalities of Chinese medicine, including acupuncture, gua sha, shiatsu massage, manual cupping therapy, as well as nutrition and lifestyle structure while earning his master’s in Acupuncture and Chinese medicine at OCOM. Graduating in 2017, he went on to open a private practice in Portland, Oregon, running that until moving to Ashland, Oregon in 2020.

Since graduating, Simon has had success as an acupuncturist treating cases from sports/lifetstyle injuries, stress, anxiety, PTSD, gastrointestinal disorders, headaches/migraines, menstrual disorders, symptoms of chronic disease, issues with fertility in both men and women, skin diseases, to side effects of prescription drugs and medical procedures.
